SPR-01 Inspection and packaging machine

The SPR-01 machine is a complete automated system designed for the selection, orientation, inspection, and packaging of ferrite cores used in the production of electronic components.

The device is controlled via a PLC and an HMI operator panel, enabling process parameter changes, diagnostics, and automatic and service modes. The machine’s design also includes extensive safety systems, including an emergency button, protective covers, and sensors protecting the robot’s work area.

Using an industrial robot, a vision system, and automatic pallet transport, the SPR-01 station ensures stable and repeatable quality control of ferrite cores while simultaneously increasing production process efficiency.

The process begins with cores being fed onto a flat vibrating feeder, which transports the components to the picking zone. In this zone, the SCARA robot picks up the appropriately oriented components and places them on a rotary table for inspection.

On the measuring table, the components are placed in special cells, where inspection is performed using a vision system. A measuring camera analyzes the core’s geometry, verifying its dimensions and detecting any damage or chips. Based on the measurement results, the control system determines the component’s fate. Cores meeting quality requirements are transferred by the robot to transport pallets, while defective components are automatically rejected to a dedicated container.

The machine is equipped with an automatic pallet storage system. The empty input warehouse delivers pallets to the packaging zone, and once full, they are transferred to the output warehouse. This means that the operator is limited to replenishing empty pallets and collecting the finished sets of packed cores.
